Selwyn Council hosted Town Hall meeting
Selwyn Council held their annual Town Hall meeting. The town hall meeting is an opportunity for community members to talk with their elected representatives about issues that concern them.
This year, the Town Hall meeting was held the day following a motion passed by Council requesting that the Provincial government postpone the proposed changes to the Employment Standards Act.
Many of the Town Hall attendees had questions for Council regarding the motion.
Mayor Smith attempted to keep the conversations on topic (municipal government) but constituents wanted clarification on the above noted motion.
The meeting was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Council Chambers on Centre Line, and ratepayers were encouraged to come and go as they pleased.
