We had the luck o’ the Irish during Story Time this week at Trent Lakes Public Library. After reading 10 Lucky Leprechauns by Kathryn Heling, the library was fortunate enough to be visited by a leprechaun named Doug Eddy. After listening to the leprechaun’s story, the children made St. Patrick’s Day necklaces with Fruit Loops that were generously donated by the Buckhorn General Store. Story Time is held every Wednesday at 11:00 at the Buckhorn branch of Trent Lakes Public Library.
The Kawartha Chamber of Commerce & Tourism hosted a Business Owners Sharing Solutions (BOSS) at the Lakefield Legion. This session featured a panel of local professionals, sharing their stories, successes, and challenges as young business owners. Kyla O’Dette put on a hula hoop demonstration during the March Break event held at the Warsaw Community Centre on Wednesday afternoon. The Peterborough Academy of Circus Arts was on hand to show the children how to perform certain skills.
Opal and Shar showed the crowd a thing or two about circus performing last Wednesday at the Warsaw Community Centre. Approximately 30 people came out to see the Peterborough Academy of Circus Arts.
Opal, a member of the Peterborough Circus Academy amazed those in the audience during the March Break event. This was hosted by the Friends of the Douro-Dummer Public Library at the Warsaw Community Centre last Wednesday.
Retired OPP officer, Dave McNab appeared before Douro-Dummer council to request support for Pedal for Hope.
