LocksStop Cafe in Buckhorn gets CIP Grants

Cost: $7,367.60 with eligible 50 % grant being $3,683.80 plus additional landscaping at the road, to the maximum allowable grant of $5,000.
Staff requested additional landscaping along the property line adjacent to Lakehurst Road between the two access driveways. Ms. Coon will be providing a drawing for Council’s meeting on Tuesday. Therefore, staff suggest that the additional landscaping will be more than $1,300.00 and recommend that Council approve the Landscaping Improvement Grant at the maximum $5,000. This was discussed with the Economic Development Committee and they were supportive of the approval of maximum grant to allow for additional landscaping at the road.
Building Improvements – Shingled roof to be replaced with a charcoal metal roof, sign brackets to be reused, installation of new master flash kit for bathroom vent pipes. The outside of the building will be painted a cottage blue and the front porch will be painted a grist grey.
Cost: $13,560. with eligible 50% grant being $6,780.
Improved Signage – The maximum signage improvement grant is $1,000. per business. Ms. Coon will be providing quotes however they were not available at the time of writing this report.
Council supported the recommendations of the Economic Development Committee to approve the application for three grants.
