Policy

Community events notices are available free to non-profit community organizations.  Drop your notices off at our office, or use fax (705-652-6912), mail or email (psa@lakefieldherald.com). We do not accept them by telephone. Notices for specific events may be run for two weeks. Notices for items which are not date specific may be run for three months, and may be renewed at that time.

Lakefield Legion presents its next Fabulous Friday Night dinner, featuring roast beef and all the trimmings, on Friday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $15.00 in advance (by Wednesday prior) or $18.00 at the door. Reserve your advance ticket by calling (705) 652-7988.

Kawartha Artists’ Gallery and Studio Located at 420 O’Connell Road, Peterborough. - October 11th to October 22nd: “Out of My Head”. A solo art show and sale of abstracts in oil, acrylic, and mixed media by local artist Carol Forbes. Opening reception is Sunday, October 15th, 1 pm to 4 pm. October 25th to November 12th. “Rural Outlook”. A show and sale featuring works by KAGS’ Outdoor Painters Group. The Lakefield Historical Society invites everyone to their meeting held at the Lakefield Legion on Thursday, October 26th at 7 p.m.   Since Remembrance Week is fast approaching Don Webster and Ted Morin, who have been working on the many profiles for the “Lakefield War Veterans” website, will present a “Military Theme” sharing several interesting stories of War Veterans, War Medals and War Memorabilia.  This should be a fun and informative evening so come along, bring a friend and enjoy.
