Kawartha Artists’ Gallery and Studio Located at 420 O’Connell Road, Peterborough. -.  November 15th to November 26th: “Stretch Marks”. A show and sale featuring the works of family members Donna, Emma, and Dawn Bolam.  November 29th to December 22nd. “The Winter Show” -  A Show of Works as Diverse as our Members. Bridgenorth United Church - Sun. Nov. 26th  Celebrate Stewardship Sunday  Rev. Anne’s message will speak to the value of generosity and gratitude. This Sunday is set aside to celebrate those things accomplished this past year and to look ahead to 2017.  Come and enjoy this celebration, hear special music by the Tarnished Angels, and then share in a pot-luck lunch to which all are invited.  If you are looking for a church home this is a great time to learn about the Church and to meet its people.

 

Christmas Bazaar at the Regency on Nov.18 at 10:00-2:00.  The residents are all making homemade items and baking too.  We have a few outside vendors coming in as well as having a tea room.  The residents are very excited to open their home to the public and show it off.  Tours are available if someone would like one.

Annual Christmas Bake Sale is being held on Sat. Christ Church Community Museum invites you to join them at their annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 1st at 6:30pm. After the lights on the tree get turned on we will go inside and sing some favourite carols followed by a special guest, musician Michaela Hetherington. As the temperature continues to dip and comfort food becomes a necessity, it’s great to know that the Chili Cook-Off at Activity Haven is fast approaching.    On Fri. Nov. 17 our kitchen will play host to this aromatic event.  A chili lunch along with assorted toppings and a roll, coffee or tea, and a sweet treat dessert is yours for six dollars. The comradery and laughs are no charge. You are able to sample from seven various chef’s chili creations, and share your favourite via a vote for the People’s Choice Award.  Come and join our celebrity judges this year are Kathleen Gordon, Barb Overwijk, and Mary Babcock.  Activity Haven  -  Come Out And Play!

 

Nov. 23 the Ennismore and District Horticulturl Society will be holding their AGM and Potluck at the Auditorium of the Ennismore Arena at 6 pm. The Society will provide the meat and beverages. Guests are invited to bring  a vegetable dish or dessert. Please bring  a plate and cutlery. After a short meeting our speaker RIkka Brouwer will provide some Christmas tricks and tips.  2018 memberships will be available. Why not take this oppourtunity to become a member? The Lakefield Historical Society will hold its final meeting of the year on Thursday, Nov. 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the Lakefield Legion Branch #77.  We welcome guest speaker Chief Phyllis Williams of Curve Lake who will do a slide presentation on the history of Curve Lake entitled “Curve Lake - Past to Present”.   It should be an interesting and informative evening so come along and bring a friend.

Lucy is such a pretty girl. She was found in a box at a highway rest stop. Luckily, she was discovered and will not have to live as a stray.
