Boat crash on Gold Lake leaves man in serious condition

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist after a boat ran aground on Gold Lake shortly before 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses describe the vessel travelling at high speed before losing control and colliding with the shoreline.
A 27 year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario received serious life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The vessel operator was transported to a Kingston area trauma centre by Orange Air Ambulance and remains in serious condition.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
