Township of Selwyn election ballot kits to be mailed
The 2014 Municipal Elections are fast approaching. Mail-In Voting Kits are to be mailed to Selwyn electors on, or about, October 1, 2014. Electors who do not receive their Mail-In Voting Kit by October 8, 2014 are encouraged to contact the Municipal Office at 705-292-9507.
Once electors receive their kits, we urge them to read the Mail-In Voting Kit instructions carefully to ensure that their ballot kits are completed accurately. An online instructional video is available on the Township website to aid electors with the voting process. The online tutorial demonstrates how to fill out the Ballot and Voter Declaration Form, as well as the process for mailing back the Mail-In Voting Kit. The tutorial can be found at www.selwyntownship.ca under Township Hall/2014 Municipal Election.
Electors are reminded that ballots must be received at the Municipal Office at 1310 Centre Line prior to 8:00 pm on October 27, 2014. In order to ensure that ballots are received by October 27, 2014 electors are asked to mail back their ballots to the Municipal Office By October 18, 2014.
After October 18, 2014 electors may choose to hand deliver their ballots to the Municipal Office during regular office hours, or after hours in the secure drop-box located by the Municipal Office front doors.
On Election Day the Municipal Office will remain open until 8:00 p.m. to accept hand delivered, completed Ballot Packages.
The Township website has the list of Candidates and School Board Trustees running for office as well as other useful election tools, including Voter Look-up, which can be used to confirm eligible elector status, to verify mailing information, and to electronically add a name to the Voterís list.
