Fewer trucks on Albert, Concession Sts.

by Simon Conolly

There is some good news for Albert and Concession Street residents who have been plagued by the noise of heavy truck traffic through their neighbourhood since Peterborough County made changes to the Bridge and Water Street intersection in Lakefield.

“The township has asked some of the trucking firms to direct northbound traffic along Queen Street to reach Highway 28,” Lakefield Ward Councillor Anita Locke told The Herald Tuesday.

Apparently, the companies contacted include the Trent Rapids Power Corporation, which is involved in excavating a new canal between Locks 21 and 22 on the Otonabee River.
